    Hey all,

The weather seems to be warming up now this weekend on the mountain forecast for the mid 20's. I'm hoping it stays warmer or I might rent some warmer boots/bag on the way up.

Does anyone have an extra spot in a 4-season tent that I can use? If not then I can rent a tent this weekend and share it with someone who also doesn't have an adequate tent.

Also, does anyone have experience with the Bunny Flats road and FWD car with chains? I've got decent chains but mostly wondering if it is overly steep / plowed for car clearance to the winter accessible parking.

Good question on the road conditions... I'm bringing an AWD Forester with snow cables. Hopefully that's enough, otherwise I'll need to catch a ride from town.

If you need to leave a car in town, meet at the Fifth Season in town at 7:00 a.m. and we'll carpool.

Hi Vish,  looks like we are in a wait and see posture depending on avalanche conditions.  The consensus was we would have a good idea by Friday.

Follow up on a few questions:

    • We are monitoring conditions and waiting to see mostly what the avalance report is. My opinion is that the trip will go, albeit in winter conditions, with snow storms threatening, and possibly high winds. Temps look good though.
    • If you have a 4 season tent in good condition, please bring it. MAA will provide many options and can outfit the entire team if necessary, but there may be better tents out there among you.
    • If you have a reliable stove with a large pot (1 liter or bigger), please bring that. We'll select our group gear in the parking lot, and leave the rest in our cars.
    • We do not plan on using any pro or ropes on the route, but we will have some with us in case it is needed.

    Bring a shovel!

Snowshoes might be a good idea. However, they are heavy and cumbersome. It's up to you!

Let me know if you need any gear!

From what I'm seeing, weather reports are being dialed down a little on precipitation; temperatures dropped a little.   Avalanche report is not spiking into red as of this morning.

Not sure of others' read on this.  I noticed over the last two weeks there's been strong wind directly impacting the Southwest side of the mountain where i think our route is, I think this would mitigate the accumulation of soft snow. I'm curious what your read is on this.

Monday and Tuesday do not look very good on either NOAA or MF and I would imagine if they get heavy snowfall as predicted the avy forecast will be upgraded.  Wednesday does look a lot better for a summit day however.  Maybe we push the trip back one day?  Just a thought as I know everyone probably has blocked out these days and that might limit people's availability.

Hey guys, I agree. Anyone who looks critically at what we'll be in for will agree the forecast does not look promising. Paul and I are discussing today. I'll provide an update to the team this evening.
