Sounds good. I can make arrangements to arrive earlier.

Although, I'm in agreement with you that after checking out the avy report and hearing about trip reports on social media the conditions are rough right now. I'll also be making a decision tomorrow when we get more up-to-date forecasts.

@Darren do you have any input on conditions?

    Hey Ski Team

I'd like to go in Friday afternoon if possible so yes let's talk hookup. Name a time and I'll be there.

As far as equipment I have a four-season tent a stove, pots etc. I'd love to share gear and avoid hauling in a bunch of extra weight we don't really need.

I plan on being very flexible as far as coming out so if the conditions are really good I can ski more and if they're kind of awful I'll just ski out and bring some gear out for the others and help out that way.

I'm also planning on bringing my one BCA radio, Avi beacon and my Garmin sat device.

I plan to go to Hood after Shasta and am on vacation so I'm just keeping it flexible and fun if anyone wants to carpool or join me. If Mount Hood gets socked in and awful then it sounds like the plan is Smith rocks which I'm totally stoked for so I'll be bringing a climbing rack and a rope and ready to go there too. Well that's my plans so like I said the mantra is flexible and fun.

Let me know if your in!

    -Stefanie

Hey Stef - Do you have room for one more in your tent?  I'm looking to share a tent and stove as well.  I am planning on going in with te Friday morning group but could wait to go in with you and Greg so we could share the load.  I'd be inclined to go earlier than later if possible due to weather etc.  My cell is 916-224-4809

    Thanks Eric

@Stef, Greg, Eric. The forecast looks better now. Does it work if we hit the trail on Friday by 1 pm?

    Hey Mikhail!

I agree.  I was pleased to see that things are looking a little bit better.  Who knows, maybe with the sun coming out thurs/friday they'll even get some layer consolidation.

I'm good with the 1pm time.  Just wondering though will you already have your permit?  Like, are you going to pay fees and whatnot before 1pm?

Having never been to Shasta I really can't say.  If you think we can hike in and get everything setup with enough daylight etc... I'm game.

@Greg, the permit system simply implies leaving 25$ in the envelope at the trailhead. I suggest we start a text thread with 4 of us to coordinate.

@Eric, the sunset should be around 8 pm. If we meet around noon and start walking at 1pm I believe we should have enough time.

    Hi All,
I am coming to Sunday training and Monday climb.

Planning to drive from Bay Area on Friday evening - if meeting with Will on Saturday, or on Saturday morning (ideally) and hike to the basecamp after 1PM or so.

Can consider sharing tents and stuff. And carpool.

Hey Darren - are you planning on leaving some group gear for the later teams to carry in?
