Anyone have recommendations for a boot fitter or a good supplier with a lot of stock within 200 miles of the Bay Area? Bobcats no longer has a physical store and doesn’t have my size in stock. I am looking for my first pair of serious mountaineering boots and would love to be able to try different boots on and get some fitting advice.

    thanks.

Go to REI first, next are the stores in Truckee, Reno and Tahoe search online).. I have lots of foot problems.. I must buy a full size larger than my measured foot size to allow for swelling on long hikes/ climbs. Scarpa for wide foot, sportiva for narrow foot..except for the Spotriva Nepals... You can return anything you buy online.. The lighter boots will only have the heal ridge for simi auto Crampons. The heaver winter boots also have the extended toe piece for auto crampons.. Crampons made specifically for ice climbing usually require auto compatable boots.. Call me anytime for more info 573-541-5415
