Forecast for next weekend is for snow. Hopefully the weather clears up once we get to the peak. https://www.mountain-forecast.com/peaks/Matterhorn-Peak/forecasts/3738

Yeah, I've been keeping an eye on that.  Obviously we'll have a better idea as the day approaches but the snow (up to a certain point) will help on the couloir section of the climb.  I'm a bit more concerned about the wind which is forecast for Saturday night.  Anyway, we'll keep an eye out of weather and avalanche conditions and go from there.

Found this new app for the gpx route you provided. Better 3D satellite image than Caltopo and has gradient shading

    Wow, flatmap gpx is amazing.

Should I bring my beacon so DK and I can dig each other out?  What size pack are people bringing.  I'm was thinking medium, but after re-reading the plan, sounds like a 50 L or so.

Weather is looking better.  Hope we can survive the wind up to base camp on Saturday, then with an alpine start summit and rtn to Twin Lakes with lower wind forecast for Sunday.  ??

I am bringing my avy gear, including my beacon. Bringing my larger bag just in case.  Not taking any chances with 45 mph winds, 21.3 inches of powder, and windchill of -18 degrees at the top. Shouldn't be as bad at campsite at 10K.

On the positive, I hope get some champagne powder on Sunday on our way down
