Good news - road construction is finished and both the county and the forest service announced that they're opening the middle and upper gates today, so we will be able to start the hike from the portal!

Thanks for checking in everyone. Weather still looks iffy for Sunday, but getting in on Saturday looks pleasant. I do hope the road is open! In any case we need to go light. Thanks for bringing all the great gear, stoves, tents, etc. I am only driving up 2 alpine assault tents then. I've got a full rack, draws, and a good assortment of ropes. We will decide all this at the trailhead. 

Also, I'm bringing some radios. If anyone has some, please bring them.
