I have a snow shovel. I'll bring my 3 person, 3 season tent in case. And I'll bring my stove and canisters.

To answer some of Travis' questions since I figure others will wonder the same:

I plan on having breakfast before arriving, packing in a lunch, some snacks and dinner for day one, breakfast lunch and dinner day two and only breakfast day three.

I'm good with cold breakfast and coffee in the morning Sat/Sunday but to each their own.  We'll be looking at a somewhat early start on Saturday (7am give or take) really depending on how the snow feels on the hike in.  If you want to get up early and make a full breakfast feel free!

We'll be meeting at 9am at Annette's Mono Village resort...bit of a misnomer there as it's at the western edge of Twin Lakes (just take Twin Lakes Road until you can't go any further and look for a crowd).  The resort itself is listed as not open but I'm not sure if they have a gate at the entrance they close or not, we may end up parking on the side of the road and walking in.  If we do park in their lot there may be a fee on a per car basis.

I'm heading up Thursday morning to get permits, scope out the trailhead, etc. so look for last minute posts or email Thursday evening.

I'm located in South Lake Tahoe and will be departing for Bridgeport at about 3pm if anybody would like a ride from SLT.

Hi Doug - Do you know if there is a free tent space? If there is, I'll take it. Or will we figure that out at the trail head?

Hi Travis - are you driving Thursday or Friday from Auburn? and what time?

    Thank you!
    Leslie

    Hi Leslie,

Travis had to drop the trip for personal reasons which is too bad.

Regarding tent space just bring your three season, I'll have a spare four season which can be switched out at the trail head if needed.  Weather forecast at this point is encouraging and might not need anything more robust than a three season tent.

Hi everyone, sorry for being late to the conversation. For group gear, I have a super lightweight 2 person 3 season tent that I don't think will cut it for this trip. I'd love to cozy up to someone who has a 4 season :).

I have a bear canister that I can bring as well - I think. I also need to check storage to make sure.

I'll be leaving from Reno, and if we are planning on 9 AM at Mono Village, I might get an early start from Reno around 5:30-6:00.

    Looking forward to it!

Can't wait for the trip and liking the weather report so far! Are people bringing skis or snowshoes for the approach?

    Hi everyone,

I am hoping to share a tent with someone, if room is available. Also if anyone has an extra bear canister, please bring it along. I will be leaving the San Jose area on Thursday afternoon, please let me know if you are interested in carpooling (from the Bay Area or any point along the way).
