Let's get together for fun top rope and sport rock climbing at one of the most convenient crags near Donner Pass! Prior climbing experience helpful but not required. Loaner gear may be available. We have room for up to 8. Hope to have you out with us!

DETAILS:

  • What's happening: Top rope rock climbing at the cliffs at Indian Springs. This is a series of granite crags featuring slab, crack, and dome climbing at the Eagle Lakes Exit just off I-80. There is a variety of sport routes and traditionally protected crack and slab routes spread out between three tiers, all with a short approach.
  • Where to meet: Drive I-80 until the Eagle Lakes Exit, (east of Hwy 20 and west of Cisco Grove) and go under the freeway. A bit before the left turn to the Indian Springs Campground park at a small dirt pullout on the right. We'd like to start at Johnny Wall, which is in the woods directly across from the campground. Looks for suspicious characters with backpacks milling around.
  • Event leader: Stephen Moeller
