Join MAA members for an exciting technical ascent of Mt. Rainier via the classic Liberty Ridge route. This climb provides the full mountain experience of glacier travel, steep snow, and high-altitude ice climbing (AI2-AI3) in a variety of terrain and a 10,000' ascent over several days. We will ascend via Liberty Ridge and descend via the Emmons glacier. This is a Grade IV very strenuous technical climb and team members should have solid skill and experience in the following: snow camping at high elevation, snow and alpine ice climbing (up to AI3) with a full pack (we will carry full packs up and over the summit), glacier travel, and self-arrest & crevasse rescue training. Loaner gear may be available. We have room for 6. Hope to have you out with us!
